Am I the only American that hates the British accent and think its unsophisticated?
It seems like everyone loves the British accent but me. I hear it and notice that they mostly just stop pronouncing their consonants. Other people hear it and think, "Oh-Hoh! Fancy." If I watch an older movie it doesn't seem like their accent is nearly as bad, its like they're worse than America now. At least we use all the consonants eventually but an English person might go their whole lives without once enunciating "H" or the "er" sound at the end of words, like bacheluh(bachelor) Fatha(Father), "Ello mate, was(What's) tha soun'. Is that yuh(your) mutha calling" And before you ask I've heard the british accent from BBC and a kid that moved here, oh yeah and I have access to the internet.duh. And what does that mean for the way they hear Americans, like do we not enunciate our vowels enough?
