Is there still peer pressure in music as an adult?

I remember as a kid I felt I had to listen to certain music because the other kids did. Now as an adult I still feel some peer pressure. I like a lot of stuff other than the rock and roll and Led Zeppelin of my youth. For instance I like Chet Atkins Guitar music. I think my buddies look askance at me if I put it on. Do you still think there is still peer pressure?
