Why do we actually hate others based on looks or on personality?

People have a tendecy to make hasty judgments based on little information because doing research, studying a problem, and understanding people and/or a problem is hard work. How many children like homework? Adults are glad to be rid of it. It is much easier to have prejudices and hatreds and make someone like yourself.
