What happens with a bench warrant?

Okay so my friend jess had accidentally wrote a nsf check, so she got papers to go to court and that was on the 16th and she couldnt make it cuz she has no car at the moment and she had no ride so she called and the changed it to the 22nd at 9:00 a.m and I guess she still had no ride and she didnt call this time so now i guess on the papers it said it was just a "misdemenor." given the check wasnt written for that much and I know her she did not purposely write and nsf check shes not like that at all never been in trouble for anything other then a noise complaint on account of her roomates. But anyways on the papers it said she could send a money order for the amount or show up in court and she didnt do neither because she doesnt get payed until the 1st of april. so shes freeking because she is going to have a bench warrant out for her and she is wondering what happens with a bench warrant...? I had no idea really. Because I had a bench warrant before for not showing up in court o paying a fine for a ticket...but they never came and looked for me but I always lived in minot,ND wich is a bigger city in North Dakota and they have bigger fish to fry then going and looking for people with bench warrants the only reason I ever got arrested was because someoone told on me wher I was at and the cops arrested me based on that but other then that i went a good 10 months with out. but she lives in a smaller town. I guess I dont know what to tell her??
