What do guys like in girls? How do i get him back?

I really like my ex again. I txted my ex telling him i liked him (3 weeks ago) and he was w/ 2 girls hoo are his friends. They said he was never gonna like me again and get over it. Me and him have been so pissed @ each other 4ever and we started 2 be friends again. My friend asked him if i was his friend again and he said yes but sometimes it feels like we r more than friends b/c she told me she liked me and then he smiled. Yesterday @ his party he danced w/ me and hugged me 3 times and was talking and being so sweet. He said hes gonna b choosing a new gf soon and i hope it's me!! i think he likes my friend though b/c she grinded w/ him. What does this mean??? What do guys like in girls??? He's a little bit of a player but i like it. How do i act around him (not so much flirting yet)???
