If she is approved (she has to show she is a resident of the state / county where she applies) then Medicaid retro pays for 90 days prior to the start date. The hospital where she delivers can help her apply if she hasn't applied prior to the birth. She should apply ASAP to get prenatal care in her last weeks of pregnancy while she is here.
