Am I Being Way Too MEAN to this girl?

So theres this really cute girl who sits in the back with me in my English cl. Some dude sits between us and whenever I ask him a question she will say the answer even though I didnt ask her. Then I was at a party tonight and I guess she saw me and came up to me and said I am in your English cl and I said really and she said yeah I sit in the back with you. So I said whats your name and blah blah and that I will talk to you Wednesday. Then today this guy took the seat which was open next to her and I talked to her very little. Then at the end I was approaching her and this guy started talking to me. And then today I sat next to her and we had our quiz and all she did was play with her hair nonstop this time on the left where i sat. But then she didnt evne say one word to me after it. We just sat there. I tried talking to her 4 times, I asked her a question like whats your last name mean and crap and I get one word answers. So after the 4th time I said screw it and stopped trying to talk to her. I dont get why she approached me at the party if she decides to not talk to me at all in cl. And I am in college and just transferred so I theres nothing she could have really heard about me. And then yesterday I sat like 2 seats away from her and didnt even say hi or look at her once. She like looked away the entire time but kept glancing over. Then today I just sat in the seat 2 seats next to her leaving the one between me and her empty. She was like talking to the kids on the other side of her but I saw her like look over twice and twirl her hair but said nothing. The teacher never showed for 30 minutes so I just left the cl and she was still in it. I am not really trying to play any game, just being straightforward now sorta saying if you talk to me I will talk, but dont expect me to start talking to you like other guys are.
